The Hays

Crystal and I met in college our very first week there.  I was rooming with a good friend of Crystal's from back in upstate New York.  It was during this time that a good friendship began and would later develop into a relationship in November 2016 (our sophmore year in school).  We were married June 4, 1995.  God has truly blessed us with wonderful family and great careers.

Crystal and I are the proud parents of two adult children, Caleb and Gabe.  Caleb is currently an EMT at Somerset Ambulance.  In the fall of 2019 he began a course of study to become a paramedic.  Gabe is a freshman at the University of North Carolina, majoring in mechanical engineering.  This photos is a picture of our sons with their girlfriends, Kendall and Cheyenne.

In November 2017 Dean and Crystal along with Dean's parents, Dean Sr. and Nancy went together to purchase a property on Ft. Hill Rd, just outside Confluence, PA.  The first year that we owned the property we captured this photo of four bears on the property.  We decided give our property the name of 4 bears.  We then later started joking that four bears (Dean Sr, Nancy, Dean Jr. and Crystal) purchased the property.  Our name has since taken on a third meaning.  While doing some title research on the property we came to find out my fathers Great, Great, Great Grandparents (John and Jane (Pinkerton) McClintock) owned the property back in the late 1700's and early 1800's.  Thus our forebearers owned the property.  (As a further note, John and Jane owed the property when it was Bedford County.  They owned it when Bedford County was split in 1795 into what is now Bedford/Somerset County.  Thus they owned the same property that existed in two counties during their ownership.
